We put JD in the care of the church nursery twice today - once for the service and once for the V-day dinner. When we went to pick him up we did some parent spying... just to see him when he can't see us. On both occasions we found him kneeling at a pile of toys, carefully studying one at a time... very slowly and thoughtfully. Around him was the buzz of kids - locomoting, yelling, etc. - but in the midst of it all his focus was apparent. He loves to pull things apart, hitch them together, stack them, rip them, assemble and disassemble them. Pretty cool for parents to observe!

Great James updates... he is definitely a bright little guy with excelent focus.
Tell him hi for us today if you will!
The mailman just made a trip up our driveway an hour or so ago to drop off Valentine packages - We really like the artwork by James, and thanks for all the goodies - very thoughtful of you all.
great picture...wish james and elia could spend some more time together. she sounds a little more hyper active than james though...it is rare when she sits quietly unless we are reading her books.
on that, my favorite thing to do with her now is read the wrong word intentionally. no matter which book, what word, she corrects me every time. it is really funny.
AM: we really enjoyed sending up that package... most of work done by EM. I hope the boys enjoy the lead free tackle.
JB: whenever I try that "wrong word" trick with James he pauses, smiles and then it escalates to laughter... and he says "Yeah, YEAH!" and then he starts to insert his own wrong words... kind of a different approach I guess, but probably just as fun.
