DLK was a name given by John Randle to Corbin Lacina. I've moved it over to describe the southeast's simplest but most devastating nymph pattern: standard HE, tied buggier than hell, with a bead to get it down. DLK. There hain't a hell of a lot to it. Dudn't have to be though.

Pattern from Dave Hughes book, Essential Trout Flies...
About 100 CDC feathers are harvested from a mature duck. Croupion de canard ~ "the rump of the duck." Haven't used this material much, but I've promised myself to give it a go this season.

I've been tying a lot lately with a peacock colored glimmer chenille. Makes for great thoraxes. I'd love to see what you could do with some of that.

How small is the glimmer chenille? Small enough for 18-20?
If I were a trout, I'd eat those for sure! Good lookin' flies you have there. I'm about to find a small amount of whisky and tie up some 20-22 Zebra midges. Wish me luck!
I think it might be a bit big for the 18-20. it is not a traditional chenille, more akin to the cactus variety. I tie it like a synthetic hackle. works great for larger nymphs in the 8-14 range.
