Canoe training for the pup.  He was born April 28, 2018.  He was a little hesitant to get into the watercraft.  Kid tried to help him along and the dog decided to jump the canoe into the water far side.  We got it worked out.  He doesn't understand the concept of listing; will work on it.  By the end of this panfishing bit the kid was tying a large nymph (there was one tucked into the tackle box) onto the spinning rig and trying to cast it like one would cast a fly line; bad idea to bring that gear instead of fly rod.  I sometimes think it's "easier" for kids but closer study suggests otherwise.  For panfish anyway, fly rod pretty much supreme.

Stomach content pics from caddis hatch back in May.  The fish were literally bulging with full guts; bulging with the benthos.  About as close to unlimited trout on dry fly as you could hope to achieve.
